Deionisation and Demineralisation

The systems are used to bring the water quality level in high standards without any inorganic or organic chemicals. It provides the finest quality purified water.

Deioniation System is removal method of the cation and anions ions from water. Deionisation process is made when the ions level decreases to low levels and purification process is done.

Deionisation is a two stage process to eliminate all the ironic materials from the water. That is the reason for the process to be called as the Deionisation Process. The system consumes the processed water. They use synthetic resins just as the Water Softeners.

Two types of synthetic resins are :

  • Remove positively charged ions (cation)
  • Remove negatively charged ions (anions).

Cation deionisation resins ions eliminate cations, such as magnesium, sodium and calcium replacing them with the hydrogen (H+) ion. Anion deionisation resins eliminate anions, such as sulfate, bicarbonate, chlorine replacing them with the hydroxide (OH-) ion.

Types of Deionisation :

  • Dual Bed Deionisation
    • Resin type is in a detached vessel
    • Produce lesser quality water
  • Mixed Bed Deionisation
    • Produce water containing the lowest ionic absorptions
    • Contains both cation and anion resin in a single vessel
    • Polish the water to very high quality

Standard Features

  • No unprocessed bypass water
  • In case of power failure, there is an automatic shutoff
  • Solid, non-corrosive components
  • Automatic regeneration after manual initiation
  • Modular construction and convenient
  • Constant monitoring of final water quality
  • Solid-state dependability for trouble-free service
  • Robust skid and standard design
  • Battery operated conductivity meter for system quality control and process
  • Non-return valves and break tanks can be fitted

Advantages and Benefits

  • Easy and economical installation
  • Long life and reliability
  • Less installation cost
  • Ensures rapid start-up time
  • Manually regenerated

This system uses a chemical free process for production of high quality water which is a very popular process. The system eliminates the need for a tank exchange service. This is reliable solution for the production of ultra-pure water.

Important Features :

  • A single set of printed circuit boards control both concurrent and consecutive regeneration.
  • All programming features are easily reachable on the front panel.
  • Indicator lights display at a glance which phases of the regeneration cycle the system is in.
  • Modular construction reduces downtime and streamlines troubleshooting.
  • Monitored final rinse rids the system of remaining chemicals before the deionizer returns to service.
  • Automatic pre-rinse prior to regeneration prevents false regeneration and preserves chemicals.
  • Convenient test ports allow sampling of decationized and final DI water for quick and easy checks of system performance.
  • Direct education of chemicals through the multi-port valves eliminates extra chemical draw valves.

Applications :

  • Electronics
  • Semi- conductor
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Printing
  • Food processing Plants
  • Electroplating
  • Metal finishing
  • High volume car and truck wash installation

Optional Features :

  • pH, Temperature, TOC, Turbidity Instruments
  • Private Label or special colour

The system operates same as the Deionisation System of ion-exchange method removing mineral from raw water.

  • First the negative ions of salt exchanges to the hydrogen ions, then the positive ions salt exchanges to the hydroxyl ions.
  • Demineralisation Plant contains of 2 pressure vessels containing cation and anion exchange resins.
  • Typically, the cation resin works in the hydrogen cycle. The cations in the water passes through the cation exchange resin where they are chemically switched for hydrogen ions.

Features and Benefits :

  • Consistent water quality.
  • Lower regeneration cost.
  • Longer operating cycles.
  • Simple to install
  • Easy to operate

Applications :

  • Cosmetics
  • Researches technology
  • Distilleries
  • Surface cleaning
  • Chemicals
  • Electronics
  • Hospitals
  • Laboratory
  • Battery manufacturing
  • High pressure boiler
  • Paints
  • Pharmaceuticals
